James's Baptism

Our little miracle was baptized on July 14 at Providence Forge Presbyterian Church. It was incredibly beautiful and emotional. The session members were all so happy to meet us after hearing about us for a few years (they had to approve us getting married in the church because we weren't married), and there were a lot of happy tears. They said we are known as the Jeep couple, ha! Pastor Steve wove our story into the homily, and although James was fussy during the service, the baptism went very well. It was a wonderful moment for our family. My parents, Matt's parents, Brian and Katie (the Godparents!), and our friends Trineka and Seville came to the service. We also ran into Betty Wallace, the owner of the manor where we had our wedding reception, and she had tears running down her face for a good ten minutes. She was so happy to see us again and meet James!

After the service, we all went to Eric and Maria's house, where we were joined by Mike, Candy, Vic, and Amy. It was so much fun to celebrate my birthday and James's baptism on the same day! We had delicious food from a local Italian restaurant, cupcakes, and a cake for James. He loved all the attention.  We were surrounded by family, friends, and lots of love and support. James also got some beautiful gifts. He's so spoiled!

Our happy family (isn't Katie an amazing photographer?!?!?!)

So much love! Matt's parents, Brian and Katie, and my parents were all there to support us.

Pastor Steve is just amazing! We are so happy the session approved James's baptism at PFPC.

Baptized baby!

The beautiful (and yummy!) cake Katie got for James.

Mmmm! Cupcakes from Dreamcakes in Virginia Beach.

James even got his own special napkins! What a nice touch by Nonnie.

James has been showing much more personality the past week. He is smiling frequently, which melts our hearts. Ahh! So adorable. This morning he loved his bath and was smiling the whole time.

The first really good smile we caught on camera.

James loves his play mat from Aunt Kitty!

Taken yesterday, he's a happy chunky monkey!
